LifeLong next to The Sims

The Sims hasLifeLong has
Emergencies (kitchen fires, the fire brigade), bills and the repo man✓ Fires from cooking that spread, put out by a grown-up or the fire brigade with a smoke alarm; burglars who steal unless a burglar alarm calls the police; grown-ups left in a fire die, with the Grim Reaper; bills in the post every few days, with the repo man taking something if they go unpaid; puddles from splashy showers and leaky plumbing, mopped up; a bin that fills and is taken out; a maid to hire; pizza delivered to the door; houseplants that wilt if nobody waters them
A life that moves with the clock: days pass, Sims age, events pop up while you play✓ Each played day is half a year, decisions pop up mid-day; the household is saved mid-day on the server, and a passkey (or a code) carries your lives to another device
Sims talking to each other (chat, joke, flirt, argue) building relationships✓ Chat, joke, hug, argue, flirt, compliment and kiss, plus one social per trait (shared interests bond twice as fast), with visitors too; friendship and romance bars; ask out, propose and get married (after an engagement, with a ring) from the room, under a wedding arch if you have one; rivals from grudges, who mock you and can be apologised to; asking to be best friends and declaring enemies; invites that can be turned down; exes you can ask over; dates with a date score that ends as a dream date or an awkward one; drama decisions with rivals and exes (rumours, making peace, getting back together)
Personality traits that change what Sims like and how they act✓ 40 traits: you pick up to 3, others get 2; they change needs, what's fun and what people do by themselves, and emotional ones bring their feeling now and then; choices and careers that suit them go better, and some choices are only open to people with the trait; reward traits bought with satisfaction points, lifestyles earned by how you live, and Polite, Responsible or Caring from values taught as a child, which fade if lessons aren't kept up, and from aspirations reached as a child or teen

Still to come: more furniture
Careers with levels, pay and daily work hours✓ 16 careers with 5 levels each (splitting into two paths after level 3) and 3 part-time jobs, own pay, hours and days; paid days off; a choice of daily tasks; mood at work drives promotions; each career's skill gates the higher levels; going to work in your work outfit; chance cards with a choice to make while you're out at work; following them to work for every job (the office, kitchen, café, shop, clinic and a babysitter's playroom), where how hard they work moves the day; a shop of your own at home, built from shop shelves and a till, with shoppers coming in while it's open
Skills (cooking, logic, fitness, charisma) raised by doing things✓ 48 skills, five of them for toddlers (handiness from repairs, gardening from a vegetable patch, programming, writing and painting that pay from level 3), levels 0 to 10, from doing things, kept for everyone at home; better skill does more good and gets promotions
